Alphabet Poem
Jealousy Is A Knife
by Mya Evans
A picture of us cracked by your knife
But it’s hard to picture you sending me to the afterlife
Coming to your house innocently just like all those times before
Death is knocking at my door
Envy filled veins turn you green like the monster inside
Friends until you became jekyll and hyde
Gulping in fear, holding back tears until I fall apart
Haunting our halls with a hateful heart
I wish my success didn’t bring out your deadly eyes
Jabbed at my side, screaming my cries
Kentwood floors now stained with a crimson hue
Living room destroyed as we run through
Menacing monster masquerading at midnight
Now closing your hand over my neck, airtight
Outcome unclear when I escape from your claws
Persistently trying to achieve the applause
Quickly running to escape my fatal fate
Rain pouring, slipping as I reach the gate
Should’ve seen your fangs in hindsight
Twisted brain desperate for the spotlight
Unsettling what you’d do for fifteen minutes of fame
View me as an object to kill and maim
Watch me bleed out for the whole world to see
X me out so your name is on the marquee
You film my torturous agony, it’s reality TV
Zoning in to finally kill me
